Marseille Saint-Charles station to Cassis: from the train to your door

Cassis has its own station, but it is about 3 km from the harbour, up in the hills. From Saint-Charles, a private driver spares you the connection and the final climb with your luggage, straight to your hotel.

Cassis from Saint-Charles: skip the hilltop station

Cassis station is more than three kilometres from the harbour, at the top of the town, and the shuttle bus is infrequent. With luggage, a driver from Saint-Charles drops you as close as possible to your hotel, on the harbour or along the Route des Crêtes.

The driver takes the A50 towards Aubagne, then the Carnoux exit and the road down to Cassis, tolls included. In season the centre is closed to cars, so the drop-off is at the nearest permitted point.

Can we go as far as the Port-Miou peninsula?

Yes, to the peninsula car park. From there the path to the calanques is on foot.

For a day in the calanques, leave early: shuttles and boats to En-Vau and Port-Pin leave the harbour from the morning, and the road down to Cassis is saturated before noon in summer.

Cassis by road or by train

Cassis station is more than three kilometres from the harbour, at the top of the commune, and the shuttle bus to the centre does not always connect. With luggage, a private driver from Saint-Charles takes you straight to the harbour or your hotel in about forty minutes, via the A50 and the descent from Carnoux.

Should you take a taxi or book a driver to Cassis?

Both options work for these 32 km: a taxi priced on the meter, or a private transfer with the price agreed when you book. With GoTransfert, the price is fixed when you book: from €52, tolls included, and it does not change.

A driver waits for your train with a name sign and helps with your luggage.

More details: taxi or private driver, compared.
