The route

The route reaches Marseille by the A7 and A55 motorways, then the northern port and the cruise terminal.

Arriving at the Marseille cruise terminal

Your terminal

Most cruise ships dock at the Môle Léon Gourret terminal in the northern port. Your cruise line may use another terminal: check your travel documents and give the terminal and ship name when booking.

Luggage drop-off

Your driver drops you as close as possible to baggage check-in, suitcases included.

Boarding times

Respect the boarding slot given by your cruise line: on busy days, access to the port is congested.

Flight to ship: morning landing, afternoon boarding

Large ships berth at the Môle Léon-Gourret cruise terminal, north of Marseille port at Cap Janet. Landing in the morning and boarding in the afternoon is very common. Allow at least three hours between landing and the end of check-in on board.

The driver takes the A55 straight to the port without crossing the city centre and drops you at your cruise line’s terminal. Give its name when booking.

From flight to ship on embarkation day

Large ships usually sail in the late afternoon, and check-in closes one to two hours before. If you arrive the same morning, keep a margin: a flight an hour late is no problem with a driver who tracks your arrival, but a cancelled flight is. Many passengers prefer to arrive the day before and sleep near the Old Port; the next-day transfer to the terminal then takes only a quarter of an hour.

The Cap Janet terminal and the Léon Gourret pier are in the northern port, at the far end of the basins. Give the ship and cruise line: several ships may be alongside on the same day, each with its own entrance.

Luggage drop

At the terminal, suitcases are handed to the cruise line’s baggage service before check-in, and the driver stops as close to it as possible. For a family with four or five large cases, the 8-seat Van is the simplest choice.

Sailing out, flying home

If you embark in Marseille and fly home from another port, simply book the outward trip. If the cruise ends in Marseille, book the airport transfer with your disembarkation group and flight time: the driver arrives when your group comes out, and the driver's waiting time is free within the limits of our terms and conditions. Spring and autumn are the busiest seasons, sometimes with several ships in port on the same day.

Before boarding

Most cruise lines open check-in several hours before departure and ask passengers to arrive with their luggage tagged. If your flight lands early, the driver can take you first for lunch at the Old Port or to Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde with your bags in the boot, then drop you at the terminal at the time printed on your ticket. On busy Saturdays, when several ships embark at once, the approach roads to the port are slower: we build the margin into the pick-up time.

Tell us your ship

When booking, give the ship’s name and the embarkation terminal if you know it. The driver checks the berth on the day, since a ship can occasionally change quay, and drops you at the right entrance rather than the general car park.

Cruise Port from Marseille Provence Airport: taxi or private transfer?
