Aubagne from the station: more direct than the train with luggage

The Marseille–Aubagne train is fast, but Aubagne station is at the bottom of town, far from the hillside districts and Les Paluds business park. A private driver takes you straight to your address.

The driver follows the Jarret and the A50 eastwards. In the evening, leaving Marseille via La Valentine is often slow, but the price stays fixed whatever the actual journey time.

Can the Aubagne tram replace a private driver?

For the centre, yes. For the hills, Les Paluds or with luggage, a driver saves several changes.

Pagnol and the Foreign Legion

Aubagne is the birthplace of Marcel Pagnol: his childhood home, the trail through the hills he described and the santon nativity scene recall his stories. The town is also the headquarters of the French Foreign Legion, with its museum. In December, the santon fair fills the centre.

A town of clay

Aubagne is the centre of Provençal ceramics: potters’ workshops, santon fairs and a ceramics biennial keep the craft alive. The Garlaban, Pagnol’s hill, towers over the town, and waymarked trails lead to the places of “My Father’s Glory”. From Saint-Charles, the road follows the A50 to the town centre or to Les Paluds, one of the largest business parks in the region.
