Match night at the Vélodrome
The Orange Vélodrome on Boulevard Michelet holds nearly 67,000 spectators. On OM match nights, traffic is cut around the stadium well before kick-off and Rond-Point du Prado metro station overflows. If you land in the late afternoon, either drop your bags at the hotel first or go straight to the stadium, the luggage staying in the boot if the driver takes you back afterwards.
Aim to reach the area at least an hour and a half before the start: ticket checks and searches take time. For the return, choose a meeting point a little away from the gates, towards Boulevard de Sainte-Marguerite or Avenue de Mazargues.
Concerts and big events
In summer the stadium also hosts giant concerts and rugby fixtures. Exits are later than for a match, and your fare stays the same at midnight as at 3 pm. For a group of friends, the 8-seat Van saves hunting for several taxis after the show. On European nights, away supporters are grouped and escorted: follow your club’s instructions for the meeting point, and the driver will drop you and pick you up at the places set by the organisers.
