The route

The driver takes the A7 northbound to Cavaillon, then the Saint-Rémy road through the orchards.

Arriving in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Saint-Rémy centre

Drop-off on the boulevard ringing the old town; the lanes of the centre are explored on foot.

Glanum and Saint-Paul-de-Mausole

The ancient site and the monastery are on the southern edge of town, on the road to Les Baux: the driver drops you there.

Saint-Rémy and the Alpilles in one call

For a shore excursion, give us your all-aboard time: the driver sets the departure time from the site with a margin for traffic and brings you back to the terminal in time.

Saint-Rémy combines easily with Les Baux-de-Provence, ten minutes away: book a driver at your disposal to see both.

Van Gogh in Saint-Rémy

Van Gogh painted about a hundred and fifty canvases in Saint-Rémy, including “The Starry Night”, during his stay at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole hospital. The monastery, still in use as a care facility, can be partly visited, with a reconstruction of his room and a trail of reproductions in the garden and olive groves.

The ancient site of Glanum, right next door, reveals a Roman town at the foot of the Alpilles, with temples, baths and houses. The centre of Saint-Rémy, with its shops and terraces, is ideal for lunch before returning to the ship.

A day call

Allow about three hours of driving there and back. The most efficient route starts at Glanum, continues to the neighbouring monastery, and ends with a stroll through the centre and lunch on a terrace; the three stops are close together and the driver drops you at each one.

The Wednesday market

If your call falls on a Wednesday, Saint-Rémy’s big market fills the whole centre until early afternoon: producers’ stalls, soaps, fabrics and pottery. It is the perfect time to bring back souvenirs of Provence, but traffic is restricted: the driver drops you on the outer boulevard and picks you up at the same spot.
