Pick-up

The route

From Marignane, the route takes the A7 then the A50 motorway towards Aubagne, before heading down to Cassis through Carnoux, avoiding central Marseille.

Arriving in Cassis

Harbour and village centre

In season the village is busy and parking is scarce: your driver drops you as close as possible to your address.

Calanques and the Presqu’île

Hotels and rentals towards Port-Miou or the Route des Crêtes: give the exact address, the price is calculated on that point.

Wine estates

Staying at a Cassis wine estate? Your driver takes you to the property entrance.

Cassis: the harbour and the calanques

Cassis is a visitor favourite for its harbour, its white wines and access to the Port-Miou, Port-Pin and En-Vau calanques. The centre is closed to traffic for much of the year; the driver drops you as close as possible, often at the Gorguettes car park or at your hotel when allowed.

The route crosses Marseille via the A55 and A50, then takes the Carnoux exit and the road down to Cassis, tolls included. In summer the road into Cassis jams by late morning.

Can you drive into the calanques?

No, access is regulated. The driver drops you at the harbour, where the boat tours and footpaths start.

Wine and the Cap Canaille

Cassis was one of the first French wine appellations, in 1936, and its white wine is the classic match for the local seafood. The vines climb the slopes below Cap Canaille, whose ochre cliff closes the bay to the east. Several estates welcome visitors for tastings, and the driver can stop at one on the way back to the airport.

Should you take a taxi or book a driver to Cassis?

For a 58 km journey, both are possible: a taxi at the regulated fare, or a private driver with the price agreed at booking. You pay a fixed fare agreed in advance: from €93 in Eco, whatever the traffic.

You are met in arrivals with a name sign; the flight is tracked live, so there is nothing to look for when you come out.
